Positive feedback from Dr Pablo Ibanez

Objective: In order to improve organ transport standards, we wanted to test in vitro and in vivo the thermal performance of the packaging currently used (portable refrigerator) and the Vitalpack Evo packaging. Materials and methods: We used porcine muscle tissue under controlled conditions of humidity and temperature, recording the internal conditions of each transport system with probes. Results: the temperature measured by the probes in the bags containing the organic tissue shows that the temperature is more stable and homogeneous even though neither reaches extreme temperatures that endanger the organ. Conclusions: Under similar conditions, the Vitalpack Evo packaging displays acceptable thermal performance without endangering the extreme temperatures of the organ. On the other hand, we have to consider that preparation of the system in question is simpler (no need to prepare ice) is lighter and comfortable for transport (it has a shoulder strap and wheels for easy handling).
